On Saturday, 2nd April, Singing Forest Montessori and our sister school, Chartwell House hosted a Market Day Food Fair. The older children made and sold their own foods, chosen from a country around the world, while our pre-schoolers’ parents assisted with a stand and a cake decorating competition.
While there was an entrance fee per vehicle and funds were raised for both schools with the various competitions and raffles, the stall owners were allowed to keep the money they made. This allowed for the older children to get a sense of ‘sales and marketing’, entrepreneurship and camaraderie. For all of us it was a chance to get to meet and mingle with moms. dads, aunts, uncles, grandparents and family friends and strengthen an already established sense of family.
Thank you to everyone who joined, who supported our childrens’ stalls and participated in the various activities. To our sponsors, thank you for taking the time and donating of the awesome prizes, and to the teachers and staff at both schools, thank you, none of it would have been possible without you.
